and

Jacob {answered} and said to Laban, What [is] my trespass? what
[is]

my sin, that thou hast so hotly pursued after me?

answered And Laban {answered} and said unto Jacob,

[These] daughters [are] my daughters, and [these] children [are]

seest [is] mine: and what can I do this day unto these my da

all

that the LORD our God commanded us. And when ye had girded on

thou commandest us we will do, and whithersoever thou sendest us,
we

will go.

answered And the men {answered} her, Our life for
yours,

if ye utter not this our business. And it shall be, when the LORD

hath given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with

thee.

answered And Achan {answered} Joshua, and said,
Indeed I

have sinned against the LORD God of Israel, and thus and thus
have I

done:

answered And they {answered} Joshua, and said,
Because it

was certainly told thy servants, how that the LORD thy God
commanded

his servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all
the

inhabitants of the land from before you, therefore

we were sore afraid of our lives because of you, and have done

answered Then the Philistines said, Who hath done
this?

me. And he {answered}, I called not, my son; lie down again.

at

d the ark of the God of Israel about [thither].

answered <1SA6 -4> Then said they, What [shall be] the trespass

and on your lords.

answered <1SA9 -12> And they {answered} them, and said, He is;

behold, [he is] before you: make haste now, for he came to day to

the city; for [there is] a sacrifice of the people to day in the

high place:

answered <1SA9 -19> And Samuel {answered} Saul, and said, I [am]
the

seer: go up before me unto the high place; for ye shall eat with
me

to day, and to morrow I will let thee go, and will tell thee all

that [is] in thine heart.

answered <1SA9 -21> And Saul {answered} and said, [Am] not I a

Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? and my family

the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? wherefore

then speakest thou so to me?

answered <1SA10 -12> And one of the same place {answered} and
said,

But who [is] their father? Therefore it became a proverb, [Is]
Saul

also among the prophets?

answered <1SA10 -22> Therefore they inquired of the LORD further,
if

the man should yet come thither. And the LORD {answered}, Behold,
he

hath hid himself among the stuff.

for the LORD hath delivered them into the hand of

Israel.

answered <1SA14 -28> Then {answered} one of the people, and said,

Thy father straitly charged the people with an oath, saying,
Cursed

[be] the man that eateth [any] food this day. And the people were

faint.

answered <1SA14 -37> And Saul asked counsel of God, Shall I go
down

after the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into the hand of

Israel? But he {answered} him not that day.

answered <1SA14 -39> For, [as] the LORD liveth, which saveth
Israel,

though it be in Jonathan my son, he shall surely die. But [there

was] not a man among all the people [that] {answered} him.

answered <1SA14 -44> And Saul {answered}, God do so and more
also:

for thou shalt surely die, Jonathan.

answered <1SA16 -18> Then {answered} one of the servants, and
said,

cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war,
and

prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the LORD [i

s] with him.

answered <1SA17 -27> And the people {answered} him after this

manner, saying, So shall it be done to the man that killeth him.

answered <1SA17 -30> And he turned from him toward another, and

spake after the same manner: and the people {answered} him again

after the former manner.

answered <1SA17 -58> And Saul said to him, Whose son [art] thou,

[thou] young man? And David {answered}, I [am] the son of thy

servant Jesse the Bethlehemite.

they

played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his
ten

thousands.

answered <1SA19 -17> And Saul said unto Michal, Why hast thou

deceived me so, and sent away mine enemy, that he is escaped? And

Michal {answered} Saul, He said unto me, Let me go; why should I

kill thee?

answered <1SA20 -28> And Jonathan {answered} Saul, David
earnestly

asked [leave] of me [to go] to Bethlehem:

answered <1SA20 -32> And Jonathan {answered} Saul his father, and

said unto him, Wherefore shall he be slain? what hath he done?

answered <1SA21 -4> And the priest {answered} David, and said,

[There is] no common bread under mine hand, but there is hallowed

bread; if the young men have kept themselves at least from women.

answered <1SA21 -5> And David {answered} the priest, and said
unto

him, Of a truth women [have been] kept from us about these three

days, since I came out, and the vessels of the young men are
holy,

and [the bread is] in a manner common, yea, though it we

re sanctified this day in the vessel.

answered <1SA22 -9> Then {answered} Doeg the Edomite, which was
set

over the servants of Saul, and said, I saw the son of Jesse
coming

to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub.

answered <1SA22 -12> And Saul said, Hear now, thou son of Ahitub.

And he {answered}, Here I [am], my lord.

answered <1SA22 -14> Then Ahimelech {answered} the king, and
said,

And who [is so] faithful among all thy servants as David, which
is

the king's son in law, and goeth at thy bidding, and is
honourable

in thine house?

answered <1SA23 -4> Then David inquired of the LORD yet again.
And

the LORD {answered} him and said, Arise, go down to Keilah: for I

will deliver the Philistines into thine hand.

answered <1SA25 -10> And Nabal {answered} David's servants, and

said, Who [is] David? and who [is] the son of Jesse? there be
many

servants now a days that break away every man from his master.

answered <1SA26 -6> Then {answered} David and said to Ahimelech
the

Hittite, and to Abishai the son of Zeruiah, brother to Joab,
saying,

Who will go down with me to Saul to the camp? And Abishai said, I

will go down with thee.

answered <1SA26 -14> And David cried to the people, and to Abner
the

son of Ner, saying, Answerest thou not, Abner? Then Abner
{answered}

and said, Who [art] thou [that] criest to the king?

answered <1SA26 -22> And David {answered} and said, Behold the

king's spear! and let one of the young men come over and fetch
it.

answered <1SA28 -6> And when Saul inquired of the LORD, the LORD

{answered} him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by
prophets.

answered <1SA28 -15> And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou

disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul {answered}, I am sore

distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is

departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets,
nor

by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make
known

unto me what I shall do.

answered <1SA29 -9> And Achish {answered} and said to David, I
know

that thou [art] good in my sight, as an angel of God:

notwithstanding the princes of the Philistines have said, He
shall

not go up with us to the battle.

answered <1SA30 -8> And David inquired at the LORD, saying,
Shall I

pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he {answered}

him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake [them], and without
fail

recover [all].

answered <1SA30 -22> Then {answered} all the wicked men and
[men] of

Belial, of those that went with David, and said, Because they
went

not with us, we will not give them [ought] of the spoil that we
have

recovered, save to every man his wife and his chil

dren, that they may lead [them] away, and depart.

answered <2SA1 -4> And David said unto him, How went the matter?
I

pray thee, tell me. And he {answered}, That the people are fled
from

the battle, and many of the people also are fallen and dead; and

Saul and Jonathan his son are dead also.

answered <2SA1 -7> And when he looked behind him, he saw me, and

called unto me. And I {answered}, Here [am] I.

answered <2SA1 -8> And he said unto me, Who [art] thou? And I

{answered} him, I [am] an Amalekite.

answered <2SA1 -13> And David said unto the young man that told
him,

Whence [art] thou? And he {answered}, I [am] the son of a
stranger,

an Amalekite.

answered <2SA2 -20> Then Abner looked behind him, and said, [Art]

thou Asahel? And he {answered}, I [am].

answered <2SA4 -9> And David {answered} Rechab and Baanah his

brother, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, and said unto them,
[As]

the LORD liveth, who hath redeemed my soul out of all adversity,

answered <2SA9 -6> Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan,
the

son of Saul, was come unto David, he fell on his face, and did

reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he {answered},
Behold

thy servant!

answered <2SA13 -12> And she {answered} him, Nay, my brother, do
not

force me; for no such thing ought to be done in Israel: do not
thou

this folly.

answered <2SA13 -32> And Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David's

brother, {answered} and said, Let not my lord suppose [that] they

have slain all the young men the king's sons; for Amnon only is

dead: for by the appointment of Absalom this hath been determine

d from the day that he forced his sister Tamar.

answered <2SA14 -5> And the king said unto her, What aileth thee?

And she {answered}, I [am] indeed a widow woman, and mine
husband is

dead.

answered <2SA14 -18> Then the king {answered} and said unto the

woman, Hide not from me, I pray thee, the thing that I shall ask

thee. And the woman said, Let my lord the king now speak.

answered <2SA14 -19> And the king said, [Is not] the hand of Joab

with thee in all this? And the woman {answered} and said, [As]
thy

soul liveth, my lord the king, none can turn to the right hand
or to

the left from ought that my lord the king hath spoken

: for thy servant Joab, he bade me, and he put all these words in

the mouth of thine handmaid:

answered <2SA14 -32> And Absalom {answered} Joab, Behold, I sent

unto thee, saying, Come hither, that I may send thee to the king,
to

say, Wherefore am I come from Geshur? [it had been] good for me
[to

have been] there still: now therefore let me see the

king's face; and if there be [any] iniquity in me, let him kill
me.

answered <2SA15 -21> And Ittai {answered} the king, and said,
[As]

the LORD liveth, and [as] my lord the king liveth, surely in what

place my lord the king shall be, whether in death or life, even

there also will thy servant be.

answered <2SA18 -3> But the people {answered}, Thou shalt not go

forth: for if we flee away, they will not care for us; neither if

half of us die, will they care for us: but now [thou art] worth
ten

thousand of us: therefore now [it is] better that thou s

uccour us out of the city.

answered <2SA18 -29> And the king said, Is the young man Absalom

safe? And Ahimaaz {answered}, When Joab sent the king's servant,
and

[me] thy servant, I saw a great tumult, but I knew not what [it

was].

answered <2SA18 -32> And the king said unto Cushi, Is the young
man

Absalom safe? And Cushi {answered}, The enemies of my lord the
king,

and all that rise against thee to do [thee] hurt, be as [that]
young

man [is].

answered <2SA19 -21> But Abishai the son of Zeruiah {answered}
and

said, Shall not Shimei be put to death for this, because he
cursed

the LORD'S anointed?

answered <2SA19 -26> And he {answered}, My lord, O king, my
servant

deceived me: for thy servant said, I will saddle me an ass, that
I

may ride thereon, and go to the king; because thy servant [is]
lame.

answered <2SA19 -38> And the king {answered}, Chimham shall go
over

with me, and I will do to him that which shall seem good unto
thee:

and whatsoever thou shalt require of me, [that] will I do for
thee.

answered <2SA19 -42> And all the men of Judah {answered} the men
of

Israel, Because the king [is] near of kin to us: wherefore then
be

ye angry for this matter? have we eaten at all of the king's
[cost]?

or hath he given us any gift?

answered <2SA19 -43> And the men of Israel {answered} the men of

Judah, and said, We have ten parts in the king, and we have also

more [right] in David than ye: why then did ye despise us, that
our

advice should not be first had in bringing back our king?

And the words of the men of Judah were fiercer than the words of

the men of Israel.

answered <2SA20 -17> And when he was come near unto her, the
woman

said, [Art] thou Joab? And he answered, I [am he]. Then she said

unto him, Hear the words of thine handmaid. And he {answered}, I
do

hear.

answered <2SA20 -17> And when he was come near unto her, the
woman

said, [Art] thou Joab? And he {answered}, I [am he]. Then she
said

unto him, Hear the words of thine handmaid. And he answered, I do

hear.

answered <2SA20 -20> And Joab {answered} and said, Far be it,
far be

it from me, that I should swallow up or destroy.

answered <2SA21 -1> Then there was a famine in the days of David

three years, year after year; and David inquired of the LORD. And

the LORD {answered}, [It is] for Saul, and for [his] bloody
house,

because he slew the Gibeonites.

answered <2SA21 -5> And they {answered} the king, The man that

consumed us, and that devised against us [that] we should be

destroyed from remaining in any of the coasts of Israel,

answered <2SA22 -42> They looked, but [there was] none to save;

[even] unto the LORD, but he {answered} them not.

answered <1KI1 -28> Then king David {answered} and said, Call me

Bathsheba. And she came into the king's presence, and stood
before

the king.

answered <1KI1 -36> And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada {answered}
the

king, and said, Amen: the LORD God of my lord the king say so
[too].

answered <1KI1 -43> And Jonathan {answered} and said to Adonijah,

Verily our lord king David hath made Solomon king.

answered <1KI2 -22> And king Solomon {answered} and said unto his

mother, And why dost thou ask Abishag the Shunammite for
Adonijah?

ask for him the kingdom also; for he [is] mine elder brother;
even

for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the

son of Zeruiah.

answered <1KI2 -30> And Benaiah came to the tabernacle of the
LORD,

and said unto him, Thus saith the king, Come forth. And he said,

Nay; but I will die here. And Benaiah brought the king word
again,

saying, Thus said Joab, and thus he {answered} me.

answered <1KI3 -27> Then the king {answered} and said, Give her
the

living child, and in no wise slay it: she [is] the mother
thereof.

answered <1KI11 -22> Then Pharaoh said unto him, But what hast
thou

lacked with me, that, behold, thou seekest to go to thine own

country? And he {answered}, Nothing: howbeit let me go in any
wise.

answered <1KI12 -13> And the king {answered} the people roughly,
and

forsook the old men's counsel that they gave him;

answered <1KI12 -16> So when all Israel saw that the king
hearkened

not unto them, the people {answered} the king, saying, What
portion

have we in David? neither [have we] inheritance in the son of
Jesse:

to your tents, O Israel: now see to thine own hous

e, David. So Israel departed unto their tents.

answered <1KI13 -6> And the king {answered} and said unto the
man of

God, Entreat now the face of the LORD thy God, and pray for me,
that

my hand may be restored me again. And the man of God besought the

LORD, and the king's hand was restored him again, a

nd became as [it was] before.

answered <1KI18 -8> And he {answered} him, I [am]: go, tell thy

lord, Behold, Elijah [is here].

answered <1KI18 -18> And he {answered}, I have not troubled
Israel;

but thou, and thy father's house, in that ye have forsaken the

commandments of the LORD, and thou hast followed Baalim.

answered <1KI18 -21> And Elijah came unto all the people, and
said,

How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD [be] God,
follow

him: but if Baal, [then] follow him. And the people {answered}
him

not a word.

answered <1KI18 -24> And call ye on the name of your gods, and I

will call on the name of the LORD: and the God that answereth by

fire, let him be God. And all the people {answered} and said, It
is

well spoken.

answered <1KI18 -26> And they took the bullock which was given
them,

and they dressed [it], and called on the name of Baal from
morning

even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But [there was] no
voice,

nor any that {answered}. And they leaped upon the a

ltar which was made.

answered <1KI20 -4> And the king of Israel {answered} and said,
My

lord, O king, according to thy saying, I [am] thine, and all
that I

have.

answered <1KI20 -11> And the king of Israel {answered} and said,

Tell [him], Let not him that girdeth on [his harness] boast
himself

as he that putteth it off.

answered <1KI20 -14> And Ahab said, By whom? And he said, Thus
saith

the LORD, [Even] by the young men of the princes of the
provinces.

Then he said, Who shall order the battle? And he {answered},
Thou.

answered <1KI21 -6> And he said unto her, Because I spake unto

Naboth the Jezreelite, and said unto him, Give me thy vineyard
for

money; or else, if it please thee, I will give thee [another]

vineyard for it: and he {answered}, I will not give thee my vin

eyard.

answered <1KI21 -20> And Ahab said to Elijah, hast thou found me,
O

mine enemy? And he {answered}, I have found [thee]; because thou

hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the LORD.

answered <1KI22 -15> So he came to the king. And the king said
unto

him, Micaiah, shall we go against Ramothgilead to battle, or
shall

we forbear? And he {answered} him, Go, and prosper: for the LORD

shall deliver [it] into the hand of the king.

answered <2KI1 -8> And they {answered} him, [He was] an hairy
man,

and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins. And he said,
It

[is] Elijah the Tishbite.

answered <2KI1 -10> And Elijah {answered} and said to the
captain of

fifty, If I [be] a man of God, then let fire come down from
heaven,

and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from

heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.

answered <2KI1 -11> Again also he sent unto him another captain
of

fifty with his fifty. And he {answered} and said unto him, O man
of

God, thus hath the king said, Come down quickly.

answered <2KI1 -12> And Elijah {answered} and said unto them, If
I

[be] a man of God, let fire come down from heaven, and consume
thee

and thy fifty. And the fire of God came down from heaven, and

consumed him and his fifty.

answered <2KI2 -5> And the sons of the prophets that [were] at

Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the

LORD will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he

{answered}, Yea, I know [it]; hold ye your peace.

answered <2KI3 -8> And he said, Which way shall we go up? And he

{answered}, The way through the wilderness of Edom.

answered <2KI3 -11> But Jehoshaphat said, [Is there] not here a

prophet of the LORD, that we may inquire of the LORD by him? And
one

of the king of Israel's servants {answered} and said, Here [is]

Elisha the son of Shaphat, which poured water on the hands

of Elijah.

answered <2KI4 -13> And he said unto him, Say now unto her,
Behold,

thou hast been careful for us with all this care; what [is] to be

done for thee? wouldest thou be spoken for to the king, or to the

captain of the host? And she {answered}, I dwell among

mine own people.

answered <2KI4 -14> And he said, What then [is] to be done for
her?

And Gehazi {answered}, Verily she hath no child, and her husband
is

old.

answered <2KI4 -26> Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say
unto

her, [Is it] well with thee? [is it] well with thy husband? [is
it]

well with the child? And she {answered}, [It is] well.

answered <2KI6 -2> Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take

thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where
we

may dwell. And he {answered}, Go ye.

answered <2KI6 -3> And one said, Be content, I pray thee, and go

with thy servants. And he {answered}, I will go.

answered <2KI6 -16> And he {answered}, Fear not: for they that
[be]

with us [are] more than they that [be] with them.

answered <2KI6 -22> And he {answered}, Thou shalt not smite
[them]:

wouldest thou smite those whom thou hast taken captive with thy

sword and with thy bow? set bread and water before them, that
they

may eat and drink, and go to their master.

answered <2KI6 -28> And the king said unto her, What aileth thee?

And she {answered}, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that
we

may eat him to day, and we will eat my son to morrow.

answered <2KI7 -2> Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned

{answered} the man of God, and said, Behold, [if] the LORD would

make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold,

thou shalt see [it] with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.

answered <2KI7 -13> And one of his servants {answered} and said,
Let

[some] take, I pray thee, five of the horses that remain, which
are

left in the city, (behold, they [are] as all the multitude of
Israel

that are left in it: behold, [I say], they [are]

even as all the multitude of the Israelites that are consumed:)
and

let us send and see.

answered <2KI7 -19> And that lord {answered} the man of God, and

said, Now, behold, [if] the LORD should make windows in heaven,

might such a thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it
with

thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.

answered <2KI8 -12> And Hazael said, Why weepeth my lord? And he

{answered}, Because I know the evil that thou wilt do unto the

children of Israel: their strong holds wilt thou set on fire, and

their young men wilt thou slay with the sword, and wilt dash

their children, and rip up their women with child.

answered <2KI8 -13> And Hazael said, But what, [is] thy servant a

dog, that he should do this great thing? And Elisha {answered},
The

LORD hath showed me that thou [shalt be] king over Syria.

answered <2KI8 -14> So he departed from Elisha, and came to his

master; who said to him, What said Elisha to thee? And he

{answered}, He told me [that] thou shouldest surely recover.

answered <2KI9 -19> Then he sent out a second on horseback, which

came to them, and said, Thus saith the king, [Is it] peace? And
Jehu

{answered}, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me.

answered <2KI9 -22> And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu,
that

he said, [Is it] peace, Jehu? And he {answered}, What peace, so
long

as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts [are
so]

many?

answered <2KI10 -13> Jehu met with the brethren of Ahaziah king
of

Judah, and said, Who [are] ye? And they {answered}, We [are] the

brethren of Ahaziah; and we go down to salute the children of the

king and the children of the queen.

answered <2KI10 -15> And when he was departed thence, he lighted
on

Jehonadab the son of Rechab [coming] to meet him: and he saluted

him, and said to him, Is thine heart right, as my heart [is] with

thy heart? And Jehonadab {answered}, It is. If it be, gi

ve [me] thine hand. And he gave [him] his hand; and he took him
up

to him into the chariot.

answered <2KI18 -36> But the people held their peace, and
{answered}

him not a word: for the king's commandment was, saying, Answer
him

not.

answered <2KI20 -10> And Hezekiah {answered}, It is a light thing

for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow

return backward ten degrees.

answered <2KI20 -15> And he said, What have they seen in thine

house? And Hezekiah {answered}, All [the things] that [are] in
mine

house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I

have not showed them.

answered <1CH12 -17> And David went out to meet them, and
{answered}

and said unto them, If ye be come peaceably unto me to help me,
mine

heart shall be knit unto you: but if [ye be come] to betray me to

mine enemies, seeing [there is] no wrong in mine ha

nds, the God of our fathers look [thereon], and rebuke [it].

answered <1CH21 -3> And Joab {answered}, The LORD make his
people an

hundred times so many more as they [be]: but, my lord the king,

[are] they not all my lord's servants? why then doth my lord
require

this thing? why will he be a cause of trespass to Isr

ael?

answered <1CH21 -26> And David built there an altar unto the
LORD,

and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and called upon
the

LORD; and he {answered} him from heaven by fire upon the altar of

burnt offering.

answered <1CH21 -28> At that time when David saw that the LORD
had

{answered} him in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite, then
he

sacrificed there.

answered <2CH2 -11> Then Huram the king of Tyre {answered} in

writing, which he sent to Solomon, Because the LORD hath loved
his

people, he hath made thee king over them.

answered <2CH7 -22> And it shall be {answered}, Because they
forsook

the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of
the

land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them,
and

served them: therefore hath he brought all this ev

il upon them.

answered <2CH10 -13> And the king {answered} them roughly; and
king

Rehoboam forsook the counsel of the old men,

answered <2CH10 -14> And {answered} them after the advice of the

young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, but I will add

thereto: my father chastised you with whips, but I [will chastise

you] with scorpions.

answered <2CH10 -16> And when all Israel [saw] that the king
would

not hearken unto them, the people {answered} the king, saying,
What

portion have we in David? and [we have] none inheritance in the
son

of Jesse: every man to your tents, O Israel: [and] n

ow, David, see to thine own house. So all Israel went to their

tents.

answered <2CH18 -3> And Ahab king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat

king of Judah, Wilt thou go with me to Ramothgilead? And he

{answered} him, I [am] as thou [art], and my people as thy
people;

and [we will be] with thee in the war.

answered <2CH25 -9> And Amaziah said to the man of God, But what

shall we do for the hundred talents which I have given to the
army

of Israel? And the man of God {answered}, The LORD is able to
give

thee much more than this.

answered <2CH29 -31> Then Hezekiah {answered} and said, Now ye
have

consecrated yourselves unto the LORD, come near and bring
sacrifices

and thank offerings into the house of the LORD. And the
congregation

brought in sacrifices and thank offerings; and as

many as were of a free heart burnt offerings.

answered <2CH31 -10> And Azariah the chief priest of the house of

Zadok {answered} him, and said, Since [the people] began to bring

the offerings into the house of the LORD, we have had enough to
eat,

and have left plenty: for the LORD hath blessed his pe

ople; and that which is left [is] this great store.

answered <2CH34 -15> And Hilkiah {answered} and said to Shaphan
the

scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the
LORD.

And Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan.

answered <2CH34 -23> And she {answered} them, Thus saith the LORD

God of Israel, Tell ye the man that sent you to me,

answered And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, [one] of
the

sons of Elam, {answered} and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed

against our God, and have taken strange wives of the people of
the

land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thi

ng.

answered Then all the congregation {answered} and
said

with a loud voice, As thou hast said, so must we do.

answered Then {answered} I them, and said unto them,
The

God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will

arise and build: but ye have no portion, nor right, nor memorial,
in

Jerusalem.

answered Yet they sent unto me four times after this
sort;

and I {answered} them after the same manner.

answered And Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God. And
all

the people {answered}, Amen, Amen, with lifting up their hands:
and

they bowed their heads, and worshipped the LORD with [their]
faces

to the ground.

answered And Memucan {answered} before the king and
the

princes, Vashti the queen hath not done wrong to the king only,
but

also to all the princes, and to all the people that [are] in all
the

provinces of the king Ahasuerus.

answered And Esther {answered}, If [it seem] good unto
the

king, let the king and Haman come this day unto the banquet that
I

have prepared for him.

answered Then {answered} Esther, and said, My petition
and

my request [is];

answered And Haman {answered} the king, For the man
whom

the king delighteth to honour,

answered Then Esther the queen {answered} and said, If
I

have found favour in thy sight, O king, and if it please the
king,

let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my
request:

answered Then the king Ahasuerus {answered} and said
unto

Esther the queen, Who is he, and where is he, that durst presume
in

his heart to do so?

answered And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest
thou?

Then Satan {answered} the LORD, and said, From going to and fro
in

the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

answered Then Satan {answered} the LORD, and said, Doth

Job fear God for nought?

answered And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence
comest

thou? And Satan {answered} the LORD, and said, From going to and
fro

in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

answered And Satan {answered} the LORD, and said, Skin
for

skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.

answered Then Eliphaz the Temanite {answered} and said,

answered But Job {answered} and said,

answered Then {answered} Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

answered Then Job {answered} and said,

answered If I had called, and he had {answered} me;
[yet]

would I not believe that he had hearkened unto my voice.

answered Then {answered} Zophar the Naamathite, and
said,

answered Should not the multitude of words be
{answered}?

and should a man full of talk be justified?

answered And Job {answered} and said,

answered Then {answered} Eliphaz the Temanite, and
said,

answered Then Job {answered} and said,

answered Then {answered} Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

answered Then Job {answered} and said,

answered Then {answered} Zophar the Naamathite, and
said,

answered But Job {answered} and said,

answered Then Eliphaz the Temanite {answered} and
said,

answered Then Job {answered} and said,

answered Then {answered} Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

answered But Job {answered} and said,

answered And Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite

{answered} and said, I [am] young, and ye [are] very old;
wherefore

I was afraid, and durst not show you mine opinion.

answered Yea, I attended unto you, and, behold,
[there

was] none of you that convinced Job, [or] that {answered} his
words:

answered They were amazed, they {answered} no more:
they

left off speaking.

answered When I had waited, (for they spake not, but

stood still, [and] {answered} no more;)

answered Furthermore Elihu {answered} and said,

answered Then the LORD {answered} Job out of the

whirlwind, and said,

answered Moreover the LORD {answered} Job, and said,

answered Then Job {answered} the LORD, and said,

answered Then {answered} the LORD unto Job out of the

whirlwind, and said,

answered Then Job {answered} the LORD, and said,

answered They cried, but [there was] none to save
[them:

even] unto the LORD, but he {answered} them not.

answered Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered
thee;

I {answered} thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee
at

the waters of Meribah. Selah.

answered Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel

among them that call upon his name; they called upon the LORD,
and

he {answered} them.

answered I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD

{answered} me, [and set me] in a large place.

answered Then said I, Lord, how long? And he
{answered},

Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses

without man, and the land be utterly desolate,

answered And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men,

[with] a couple of horsemen. And he {answered} and said, Babylon
is

fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath

broken unto the ground.

answered But they held their peace, and {answered}
him

not a word: for the king's commandment was, saying, Answer him
not.

answered Then said he, What have they seen in thine

house? And Hezekiah {answered}, All that [is] in mine house have

they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not

showed them.

answered And now, because ye have done all these
works,

saith the LORD, and I spake unto you, rising up early and
speaking,

but ye heard not; and I called you, but ye {answered} not;

answered That I may perform the oath which I have
sworn

unto your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and
honey,

as [it is] this day. Then {answered} I, and said, So be it, O
LORD.

answered Thus shall ye say every one to his
neighbour,

and every one to his brother, What hath the LORD {answered}? and,

What hath the LORD spoken?

answered Thus shalt thou say to the prophet, What
hath

the LORD {answered} thee? and, What hath the LORD spoken?

answered Therefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts,
the

God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon Judah and upon all the

inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced
against

them: because I have spoken unto them, but they have

not heard; and I have called unto them, but they have not

{answered}.

answered Then Baruch {answered} them, He pronounced
all

these words unto me with his mouth, and I wrote [them] with ink
in

the book.

answered Then all the men which knew that their wives

had burned incense unto other gods, and all the women that stood
by,

a great multitude, even all the people that dwelt in the land of

Egypt, in Pathros, {answered} Jeremiah, saying,

answered Then I {answered} them, The word of the LORD

came unto me, saying,

answered And he said unto me, Son of man, can these
bones

live? And I {answered}, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.

answered The king {answered} and said to the Chaldeans,

The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the

dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in
pieces,

and your houses shall be made a dunghill.

answered They {answered} again and said, Let the king
tell

his servants the dream, and we will show the interpretation of
it.

answered The king {answered} and said, I know of
certainty

that ye would gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone
from

me.

answered The Chaldeans {answered} before the king, and

said, There is not a man upon the earth that can show the king's

matter: therefore [there is] no king, lord, nor ruler, [that]
asked

such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean.

answered Then Daniel {answered} with counsel and
wisdom

to Arioch the captain of the king's guard, which was gone forth
to

slay the wise [men] of Babylon:

answered He {answered} and said to Arioch the king's

captain, Why [is] the decree [so] hasty from the king? Then
Arioch

made the thing known to Daniel.

answered Daniel {answered} and said, Blessed be the
name

of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:

answered The king {answered} and said to Daniel, whose

name [was] Belteshazzar, Art thou able to make known unto me the

dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof?

answered Daniel {answered} in the presence of the
king,

and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise

[men], the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, show unto

the king;

answered The king {answered} unto Daniel, and said,
Of a

truth [it is], that your God [is] a God of gods, and a Lord of

kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal
this

secret.

answered Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, {answered}
and

said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we [are] not careful to
answer

thee in this matter.

answered Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied,
and

rose up in haste, [and] spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did

not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They

{answered} and said unto the king, True, O king.

answered He {answered} and said, Lo, I see four men

loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt;
and

the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

answered Then Daniel, whose name [was] Belteshazzar,
was

astonied for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king

spake, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the

interpretation thereof, trouble thee. Belteshazzar {answered}
and s

aid, My lord, the dream [be] to them that hate thee, and the

interpretation thereof to thine enemies.

answered Then Daniel {answered} and said before the
king,

Let thy gifts be to thyself, and give thy rewards to another;
yet I

will read the writing unto the king, and make known to him the

interpretation.

answered Then they came near, and spake before the
king

concerning the king's decree; Hast thou not signed a decree, that

every man that shall ask [a petition] of any God or man within

thirty days, save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the d

en of lions? The king {answered} and said, The thing [is] true,

according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth
not.

answered Then {answered} they and said before the
king,

That Daniel, which [is] of the children of the captivity of
Judah,

regardeth not thee, O king, nor the decree that thou hast signed,

but maketh his petition three times a day.

answered Then {answered} Amos, and said to Amaziah, I

[was] no prophet, neither [was] I a prophet's son; but I [was] an

herdman, and a gatherer of sycamore fruit:

answered O my people, remember now what Balak king of
Moab

consulted, and what Balaam the son of Beor {answered} him from

Shittim unto Gilgal; that ye may know the righteousness of the
LORD.

answered And the LORD {answered} me, and said, Write
the

vision, and make [it] plain upon tables, that he may run that

readeth it.

answered If one bear holy flesh in the skirt of his

garment, and with his skirt do touch bread, or pottage, or wine,
or

oil, or any meat, shall it be holy? And the priests {answered}
and

said, No.

answered Then said Haggai, If [one that is] unclean
by a

dead body touch any of these, shall it be unclean? And the
priests

{answered} and said, It shall be unclean.

answered Then {answered} Haggai, and said, So [is]
this

people, and so [is] this nation before me, saith the LORD; and so

[is] every work of their hands; and that which they offer there
[is]

unclean.

answered And the man that stood among the myrtle trees

{answered} and said, These [are they] whom the LORD hath sent to

walk to and fro through the earth.

answered And they {answered} the angel of the LORD
that

stood among the myrtle trees, and said, We have walked to and fro

through the earth, and, behold, all the earth sitteth still, and
is

at rest.

answered Then the angel of the LORD {answered} and
said,

O LORD of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem
and

on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation

these threescore and ten years?

answered And the LORD {answered} the angel that talked

with me [with] good words [and] comfortable words.

answered And I said unto the angel that talked with
me,

What [be] these? And he {answered} me, These [are] the horns
which

have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.

answered And he {answered} and spake unto those that
stood

before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And
unto

him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from
thee,

and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.

answered So I {answered} and spake to the angel that

talked with me, saying, What [are] these, my lord?

answered Then the angel that talked with me {answered}
and

said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my

lord.

answered Then he {answered} and spake unto me, saying,

This [is] the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by

might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

answered Then {answered} I, and said unto him, What
[are]

these two olive trees upon the right [side] of the candlestick
and

upon the left [side] thereof?

answered And I {answered} again, and said unto him,
What

[be these] two olive branches which through the two golden pipes

empty the golden [oil] out of themselves?

answered And he {answered} me and said, Knowest thou
not

what these [be]? And I said, No, my lord.

answered And he said unto me, What seest thou? And I

{answered}, I see a flying roll; the length thereof [is] twenty

cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits.

answered Then I {answered} and said unto the angel that

talked with me, What [are] these, my lord?

answered And the angel {answered} and said unto me,
These

[are] the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from
standing

before the Lord of all the earth.

answered But he {answered} and said, It is written, Man

shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth
out

of the mouth of God.

answered The centurion {answered} and said, Lord, I am
not

worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word

only, and my servant shall be healed.

answered Jesus {answered} and said unto them, Go and
show

John again those things which ye do hear and see:

answered At that time Jesus {answered} and said, I
thank

thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid

these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them
unto

babes.

answered Then certain of the scribes and of the

Pharisees {answered}, saying, Master, we would see a sign from
thee.

answered But he {answered} and said unto them, An
evil

and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall
no

sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

answered But he {answered} and said unto him that
told

him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?

answered He {answered} and said unto them, Because
it is

given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven,
but

to them it is not given.

answered He {answered} and said unto them, He that

soweth the good seed is the Son of man;

answered And Peter {answered} him and said, Lord, if
it

be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.

answered But he {answered} and said unto them, Why do
ye

also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

answered But he {answered} and said, Every plant,
which

my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.

answered Then {answered} Peter and said unto him,

Declare unto us this parable.

answered But he {answered} her not a word. And his

disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she

crieth after us.

answered But he {answered} and said, I am not sent
but

unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

answered But he {answered} and said, It is not meet
to

take the children's bread, and cast [it] to dogs.

answered Then Jesus {answered} and said unto her, O

woman, great [is] thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt.
And

her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

answered He {answered} and said unto them, When it is

evening, ye say, [It will be] fair weather: for the sky is red.

answered And Simon Peter {answered} and said, Thou
art

the Christ, the Son of the living God.

answered And Jesus {answered} and said unto him,
Blessed

art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed
[it]

unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

answered Then {answered} Peter, and said unto Jesus,

Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make
here

three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for

Elias.

answered And Jesus {answered} and said unto them,
Elias

truly shall first come, and restore all things.

answered Then Jesus {answered} and said, O faithless
and

perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long
shall I

suffer you? bring him hither to me.

answered And he {answered} and said unto them, Have ye

not read, that he which made [them] at the beginning made them
male

and female,

answered Then {answered} Peter and said unto him,

Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we
have

therefore?

answered But he {answered} one of them, and said,

Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a

penny?

answered But Jesus {answered} and said, Ye know not
what

ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of,
and

to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say

unto him, We are able.

answered Jesus {answered} and said unto them, Verily
I

say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only
do

this [which is done] to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say
unto

this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast int

o the sea; it shall be done.

answered And Jesus {answered} and said unto them, I
also

will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in like wise will

tell you by what authority I do these things.

answered And they {answered} Jesus, and said, We
cannot

tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what
authority I

do these things.

answered He {answered} and said, I will not: but

afterward he repented, and went.

answered And he came to the second, and said
likewise.

And he {answered} and said, I [go], sir: and went not.

answered And Jesus {answered} and spake unto them
again

by parables, and said,

answered Jesus {answered} and said unto them, Ye do
err,

not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

answered And Jesus {answered} and said unto them, Take

heed that no man deceive you.

answered But the wise {answered}, saying, [Not so];
lest

there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that

sell, and buy for yourselves.

answered But he {answered} and said, Verily I say
unto

you, I know you not.

answered His lord {answered} and said unto him,
[Thou]

wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I
sowed

not, and gather where I have not strowed:

answered And he {answered} and said, He that dippeth

[his] hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.

answered Then Judas, which betrayed him, {answered}
and

said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.

answered Peter {answered} and said unto him, Though
all

[men] shall be offended because of thee, [yet] will I never be

offended.

answered But Jesus held his peace. And the high
priest

{answered} and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God,
that

thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.

answered What think ye? They {answered} and said, He
is

guilty of death.

answered And when he was accused of the chief priests

and elders, he {answered} nothing.

answered And he {answered} him to never a word;
insomuch

that the governor marvelled greatly.

answered The governor {answered} and said unto them,

Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said,

Barabbas.

answered Then {answered} all the people, and said,
His

blood [be] on us, and on our children.

answered And the angel {answered} and said unto the

women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was

crucified.

answered And he {answered} them, saying, Who is my

mother, or my brethren?

answered And he asked him, What is] thy name? And he

{answered}, saying, My name is] Legion: for we are many.

answered He {answered} and said unto them, Give ye
them

to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred

pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?

answered He {answered} and said unto them, Well hath

Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This
people

honoureth me with their] lips, but their heart is far from me.

answered And she {answered} and said unto him, Yes,
Lord:

yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs.

answered And his disciples {answered} him, From whence
can

a man satisfy these men] with bread here in the wilderness?

answered And they {answered}, John the Baptist: but
some

say], Elias; and others, One of the prophets.

answered And Peter {answered} and said to Jesus,
Master,

it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles;
one

for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.

answered And he {answered} and told them, Elias verily

cometh first, and restoreth all things; and how it is written of
the

Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be set at
nought.

answered And one of the multitude {answered} and said,

Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb
spirit;

answered And John {answered} him, saying, Master, we
saw

one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and
we

forbad him, because he followeth not us.

answered And he {answered} and said unto them, What
did

Moses command you?

answered And Jesus {answered} and said unto them, For
the

hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.

answered And he {answered} and said unto him, Master,

all these have I observed from my youth.

answered And Jesus {answered} and said, Verily I say

unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or

sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands,
for

my sake, and the gospel's,

answered And Jesus {answered} and said unto him, What

wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto
him,

Lord, that I might receive my sight.

answered And Jesus {answered} and said unto it, No
man

eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard
it].

answered And Jesus {answered} and said unto them, I
will

also ask of you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you
by

what authority I do these things.

answered And they {answered} and said unto Jesus, We

cannot tell. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Neither do I
tell

you by what authority I do these things.

answered And one of the scribes came, and having
heard

them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had {answered}
them

well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?

answered And Jesus {answered} him, The first of all
the

commandments is], Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

answered And when Jesus saw that he {answered}

discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom
of

God. And no man after that durst ask him any question].

answered And Jesus {answered} and said, while he
taught

in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the son of
David?

answered And he {answered} and said unto them, It is]

one of the twelve, that dippeth with me in the dish.

answered And Jesus {answered} and said unto them,
Are ye

come out, as against a thief, with swords and with] staves to
take

me?

answered But he held his peace, and {answered}
nothing.

Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the

Christ, the Son of the Blessed?

answered And the chief priests accused him of many

things: but he {answered} nothing.

answered But Jesus yet {answered} nothing; so that
Pilate

marvelled.

answered But Pilate {answered} them, saying, Will ye
that

I release unto you the King of the Jews?

answered And Pilate {answered} and said again unto
them,

What will ye then that I shall do unto him] whom ye call the
King of

the Jews?

answered And the angel {answered} and said unto her,
The

Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest
shall

overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be
born

of thee shall be called the Son of God.

answered And his mother {answered} and said, Not so];
but

he shall be called John.

answered John {answered}, saying unto them] all, I
indeed

baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the
latchet

of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you
with

the Holy Ghost and with fire:

answered And Jesus {answered} him, saying, It is
written,

That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

answered And Jesus {answered} and said unto him, Get
thee

behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord
thy

God, and him only shalt thou serve.

answered Simon {answered} and said, I suppose that
he],

to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly

judged.

answered And he {answered} and said unto them, My
mother

and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.

answered But when Jesus heard it], he {answered} him,

saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.

answered And John {answered} and said, Master, we saw
one

casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he

followeth not with us.

answered And he said unto him, Thou hast {answered}

right: this do, and thou shalt live.

answered And Jesus {answered} and said unto her,
Martha,

Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:

answered Then {answered} one of the lawyers, and said

unto him, Master, thus saying thou reproachest us also.

answered And the ruler of the synagogue {answered}
with

indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day,
and

said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to
work:

in them therefore come and be healed, and not on th

e sabbath day.

answered The Lord then {answered} him, and said,
Thou]

hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox
or

his] ass from the stall, and lead him] away to watering?

answered And {answered} them, saying, Which of you
shall

have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway

pull him out on the sabbath day?

answered And when he was demanded of the Pharisees,
when

the kingdom of God should come, he {answered} them and said, The

kingdom of God cometh not with observation:

answered And they {answered} and said unto him,
Where,

Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is], thither
will

the eagles be gathered together.

answered And he {answered} and said unto them, I tell

you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would

immediately cry out.

answered And he {answered} and said unto them, I will

also ask you one thing; and answer me:

answered And they {answered}, that they could not tell

whence it was].

answered Show me a penny. Whose image and
superscription

hath it? They {answered} and said, Caesar's.

answered And Jesus {answered} and said, Suffer ye
thus

far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.

answered And Pilate asked him, saying, Art thou the
King

of the Jews? And he {answered} him and said, Thou sayest it].

answered Then he questioned with him in many words;
but

he {answered} him nothing.

answered And they asked him, What then? Art thou
Elias?

And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he {answered},

No.

answered John {answered} them, saying, I baptize with

water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;

answered Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou

me? Jesus {answered} and said unto him, Before that Philip called

thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.

answered Nathanael {answered} and saith unto him,
Rabbi,

thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

answered Jesus {answered} and said unto him, Because I

said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou?
thou

shalt see greater things than these.

answered Then {answered} the Jews and said unto him,
What

sign showest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?

answered Jesus {answered} and said unto them, Destroy

this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

answered Jesus {answered} and said unto him, Verily,

verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot
see

the kingdom of God.

answered Jesus {answered}, Verily, verily, I say unto

thee, Except a man be born of water and of] the Spirit, he cannot

enter into the kingdom of God.

answered Nicodemus {answered} and said unto him, How
can

these things be?

answered Jesus {answered} and said unto him, Art thou
a

master of Israel, and knowest not these things?

answered John {answered} and said, A man can receive

nothing, except it be given him from heaven.

answered Jesus {answered} and said unto her, If thou

knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give
me

to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have
given

thee living water.

answered Jesus {answered} and said unto her, Whosoever

drinketh of this water shall thirst again:

answered The woman {answered} and said, I have no

husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no

husband:

answered The impotent man {answered} him, Sir, I have
no

man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but
while

I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

answered He {answered} them, He that made me whole,
the

same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.

answered But Jesus {answered} them, My Father worketh

hitherto, and I work.

answered Then {answered} Jesus and said unto them,

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of
himself,

but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth,

these also doeth the Son likewise.

answered Philip {answered} him, Two hundred pennyworth
of

bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may
take a

little.

answered Jesus {answered} them and said, Verily,
verily,

I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but

because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.

answered Jesus {answered} and said unto them, This is
the

work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

answered Jesus therefore {answered} and said unto
them,

Murmur not among yourselves.

answered Then Simon Peter {answered} him, Lord, to
whom

shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

answered Jesus {answered} them, Have not I chosen you

twelve, and one of you is a devil?

answered Jesus {answered} them, and said, My doctrine
is

not mine, but his that sent me.

answered The people {answered} and said, Thou hast a

devil: who goeth about to kill thee?

answered Jesus {answered} and said unto them, I have
done

one work, and ye all marvel.

answered The officers {answered}, Never man spake like

this man.

answered Then {answered} them the Pharisees, Are ye
also

deceived?

answered They {answered} and said unto him, Art thou
also

of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no
prophet.

answered Jesus {answered} and said unto them, Though I

bear record of myself, yet] my record is true: for I know whence
I

came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and

whither I go.

answered Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father?

Jesus {answered}, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had
known

me, ye should have known my Father also.

answered They {answered} him, We be Abraham's seed,
and

were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be
made

free?

answered Jesus {answered} them, Verily, verily, I say

unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

answered They {answered} and said unto him, Abraham is

our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children,
ye

would do the works of Abraham.

answered Then {answered} the Jews, and said unto him,
Say

we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?

answered Jesus {answered}, I have not a devil; but I

honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.

answered Jesus {answered}, If I honour myself, my
honour

is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say,
that

he is your God:

answered Jesus {answered}, Neither hath this man
sinned,

nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made
manifest

in him.

answered He {answered} and said, A man that is called

Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to
the

pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received

sight.

answered His parents {answered} them and said, We know

that this is our son, and that he was born blind:

answered He {answered} and said, Whether he be a
sinner

or no], I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind,
now

I see.

answered He {answered} them, I have told you already,
and

ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it] again? will ye also
be

his disciples?

answered The man {answered} and said unto them, Why

herein is a marvellous thing, that ye know not from whence he is,

and yet] he hath opened mine eyes.

answered They {answered} and said unto him, Thou wast

altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast
him

out.

answered He {answered} and said, Who is he, Lord,
that I

might believe on him?

answered Jesus {answered} them, I told you, and ye

believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear

witness of me.

answered Jesus {answered} them, Many good works have
I

showed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone
me?

answered The Jews {answered} him, saying, For a good

work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou,

being a man, makest thyself God.

answered Jesus {answered} them, Is it not written in

your law, I said, Ye are gods?

answered Jesus {answered}, Are there not twelve hours
in

the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he

seeth the light of this world.

answered And Jesus {answered} them, saying, The hour
is

come, that the Son of man should be glorified.

answered Jesus {answered} and said, This voice came
not

because of me, but for your sakes.

answered The people {answered} him, We have heard
out of

the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The
Son

of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?

answered Jesus {answered} and said unto him, What I do

thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.

answered Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash
my

feet. Jesus {answered} him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part

with me.

answered Jesus {answered}, He it is, to whom I shall

give a sop, when I have dipped it]. And when he had dipped the
sop,

he gave it] to Judas Iscariot, the son] of Simon.

answered Simon Peter said unto him, Lord, whither
goest

thou? Jesus {answered} him, Whither I go, thou canst not follow
me

now; but thou shalt follow me afterwards.

answered Jesus {answered} him, Wilt thou lay down thy

life for my sake? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall

not crow, till thou hast denied me thrice.

answered Jesus {answered} and said unto him, If a man

love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and
we

will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

answered Jesus {answered} them, Do ye now believe?

answered They {answered} him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus

saith unto them, I am he]. And Judas also, which betrayed him,
stood

with them.

answered Jesus {answered}, I have told you that I am
he]:

if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:

answered Jesus {answered} him, I spake openly to the

world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither

the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing.

answered Jesus {answered} him, If I have spoken evil,

bear witness of the evil: but if well, why smitest thou me?

answered They {answered} and said unto him, If he
were

not a malefactor, we would not have delivered him up unto thee.

answered Jesus {answered} him, Sayest thou this
thing of

thyself, or did others tell it thee of me?

answered Pilate {answered}, Am I a Jew? Thine own
nation

and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou

done?

answered Jesus {answered}, My kingdom is not of this

world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants

fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my

kingdom not from hence.

answered Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a
king

then? Jesus {answered}, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end

was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I
should

bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of th

e truth heareth my voice.

answered The Jews {answered} him, We have a law, and
by

our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

answered Jesus {answered}, Thou couldest have no
power

at all] against me, except it were given thee from above:
therefore

he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.

answered But they cried out, Away with him], away
with

him], crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your

King? The chief priests {answered}, We have no king but Caesar.

answered Pilate {answered}, What I have written I
have

written.

answered And Thomas {answered} and said unto him, My

Lord and my God.

answered Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye

any meat? They {answered} him, No.

answered And when Peter saw it], he {answered} unto
the

people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye
so

earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had
made

this man to walk?

answered But Peter and John {answered} and said unto

them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you

more than unto God, judge ye.

answered And Peter {answered} unto her, Tell me
whether ye

sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.

answered Then Peter and the other] apostles {answered}

and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

answered Then {answered} Simon, and said, Pray ye to
the

Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come

upon me.

answered And the eunuch {answered} Philip, and said, I

pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of
some

other man?

answered And Philip said, If thou believest with all

thine heart, thou mayest. And he {answered} and said, I believe
that

Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

answered Then Ananias {answered}, Lord, I have heard
by

many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at

Jerusalem:

answered For they heard them speak with tongues, and

magnify God. Then {answered} Peter,

answered But the voice {answered} me again from
heaven,

What God hath cleansed, that] call not thou common.

answered And after they had held their peace, James

{answered}, saying, Men and] brethren, hearken unto me:

answered And the evil spirit {answered} and said,
Jesus

I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

answered Then Paul {answered}, What mean ye to weep
and

to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but
also

to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

answered And I {answered}, Who art thou, Lord? And he

said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.

answered And the chief captain {answered}, With a
great

sum obtained I this freedom. And Paul said, But I was free] born.

answered Then Paul, after that the governor had
beckoned

unto him to speak, {answered}, Forasmuch as I know that thou hast

been of many years a judge unto this nation, I do the more

cheerfully answer for myself:

answered And as he reasoned of righteousness,

temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and {answered},
Go

thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will
call

for thee.

answered But Festus {answered}, that Paul should be
kept

at Caesarea, and that he himself would depart shortly thither].

answered While he {answered} for himself, Neither
against

the law of the Jews, neither against the temple, nor yet against

Caesar, have I offended any thing at all.

answered But Festus, willing to do the Jews a
pleasure,

{answered} Paul, and said, Wilt thou go up to Jerusalem, and
there

be judged of these things before me?

answered Then Festus, when he had conferred with the

council, {answered}, Hast thou appealed unto Caesar? unto Caesar

shalt thou go.

answered To whom I {answered}, It is not the manner
of

the Romans to deliver any man to die, before that he which is

accused have the accusers face to face, and have licence to
answer

for himself concerning the crime laid against him.

answered Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Thou art
permitted

to speak for thyself. Then Paul stretched forth the hand, and

{answered} for himself:

answered And one of the elders {answered}, saying unto

me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence
came

they?
