devoureth <2SA11 -25> Then David said unto the messenger, Thus
shalt

thou say unto Joab, Let not this thing displease thee, for the
sword

{devoureth} one as well as another: make thy battle more strong

against the city, and overthrow it: and encourage tho

u him.

devoureth An ungodly witness scorneth judgment: and
the

mouth of the wicked {devoureth} iniquity.

devoureth It is] a snare to the man [who] {devoureth}

[that which is] holy, and after vows to make inquiry.

devoureth Therefore as the fire {devoureth} the
stubble,

and the flame consumeth the chaff, [so] their root shall be as

rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they
have

cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised th

e word of the Holy One of Israel.

devoureth He hath cut off in [his] fierce anger all the

horn of Israel: he hath drawn back his right hand from before the

enemy, and he burned against Jacob like a flaming fire, [which]

{devoureth} round about.

devoureth Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel;
the

fire {devoureth} both the ends of it, and the midst of it is
burned.

Is it meet for [any] work?

devoureth A fire {devoureth} before them; and behind
them

a flame burneth: the land [is] as the garden of Eden before them,

and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall
escape

them.

devoureth Like the noise of chariots on the tops of

mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that

{devoureth} the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.

devoureth Thou art] of purer eyes than to behold evil,

and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them

that deal treacherously, [and] holdest thy tongue when the wicked

{devoureth} [the man that is] more righteous than he?

devoureth And if any man will hurt them, fire
proceedeth

out of their mouth, and {devoureth} their enemies: and if any man

will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.
